Dispatcher

Location: Ashdown, AR
Pay: $50,000–$60,000/year

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Dispatcher for a local company in Ashdown, AR. The Dispatcher will play an important role in coordinating drivers, shipments, and deliveries while ensuring loads are picked up and delivered safely and on time.

This is a fast-paced position that requires strong communication, organization, problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and communicate with company drivers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries

• Assist with booking shipments for company drivers

• Monitor drivers and ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures

• Determine efficient routes based on safety, weather conditions, distance, and delivery schedules

• Communicate upcoming pickups and deliveries to drivers

• Track and trace loads and provide updates as needed

• Confirm dispatch plans and communicate changes to drivers

• Serve as a primary point of contact for drivers regarding daily transportation needs

• Provide customers with timely updates regarding shipments and deliveries

• Communicate with drivers, customers, and office personnel to keep operations running smoothly

• Assist with other operational duties as needed

Qualifications

• 1+ year of transportation experience preferred

• 1+ year of dispatching experience preferred

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Ability to remain calm and professional in a high-stress, fast-paced environment

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Must be authorized to work in the United States
