Overview

The Veterans Affairs BES program is seeking several Database Technicians to join our team immediately. In this role, you will support the installation, maintenance, and administration of relational database management systems, with a focus on Oracle. You will work collaboratively within a team to ensure database performance, security, and scalability meet organizational needs. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to critical data management efforts in a dynamic environment.

Education Requirements

Candidates should have experience with database administration tasks; there are no formal degree requirements. Relevant professional experience may substitute for formal education.

Clearance Requirements

This role requires an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one. Candidates must be able to meet the eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information.

Work Arrangement

This is a remote position.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience with installation, maintenance, and administration of a RDMS such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server – Oracle preferred
• Ability to design and develop SQL queries and reports to retrieve required data under the guidance of a lead
• Experience working within a team-oriented, collaborative, agile environment.
• Highly self-motivated and directed with the ability to manage multi-discipline triage calls.

Additional Qualifications:

• Familiarity with database partitioning and microservices
• Familiarity with Cloud-native database solutions, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) Relational Database Service (RDS) and DynamoDB
• Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle in a team-oriented, collaborative, agile environment.
• Experience with tools such as ServiceNow, GitHub, Jira

Pay Range: $17 - $22/HR W2
