Receiving Material Expeditor

The purpose of the Receiving Material Expeditor is to assist each department, their supervisors and other team members with delivering, storing and organizing all components necessary to meet production requirements (i.e. gaskets, flanges, hardware). The Receiving Material Expeditor position is located within the receiving team and additionally serves internal customers by keeping areas clean and free of obstructions and safety hazards.

Essential Functions

• Receives, unloads, and moves material within or near the plant, yard or work site
• Reads material request(s) and/or follow oral instructions from Department Supervisors on which materials and/or containers to move
• Loads and unloads material onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand and/or equipment
• Load and unloads material from delivery vehicles
• Conveys material to and from storage or work sites to designated area, using a hand truck, forklift or other equipment
• Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination with the assistance of hand-operated crane or hoist, or signals crane or hoisting operators to move a load to a destination when needed
• Lifts heavy objects by hand and/or power hoist
• Cleans work area, machines, and equipment using a variety of products and/or equipment
• Labels all material as required, including traceable items such as heat numbers, CE(v)'s, etc.
• Maintains clean and debris free plant yard
• Assists with loading and/or unloading full plate sheets
• Maintains part numbers and labels on all material racks to assist with inventory tracking
• Operates computer for inventory and recording purposes
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

Other Duties:

Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Knowledge of various metal grades, thicknesses, sizes.
• Knowledge of computer programs to include but not limited to word, excel, label makers, etc.
