Revenue Cycle Medical Billing Claim Status Medical Records

Location: Remote or On-Site, United States

Hourly Pay: $17

(this position is bonus eligible)

Work Schedule: Mo - Fr / 7am - 7pm Central / 8 hrs per day / 40 hrs per week

JOB SUMMARY

The Revenue Cycle Medical Billing Claim Status Medical Records position is responsible for timely submission of transport and facility records when a request or denial has been received from a payor. Once the records are received, this position is responsible submitting the records to the payor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

• Meet daily and monthly departmental production goals set by the supervisor to ensure that the company is achieving its financial goals.
• Identify, document, and communicate trends in recurring denials or records requests.
• Recommend process improvements or system edits to eliminate future denials or delays in reimbursement.
• Document all account activity in an accurate and timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Experience:

• Must be fluent in English
• Minimum of 1-year, full-time experience in medical billing
• Minimum of 50 words per minute (typing)
• Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Must possess empathic and professional written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge and experience of computers and related technology, at an intermediate level

Preferred Experience:

• Minimum of 6 months of work in a call center environment
• Minimum of 6 months of customer service experience
• Ability to calculate numbers, correct entries, and post to records
• Knowledge and understanding of payor Explanation of Benefits (basic)
• Knowledge of health care billing compliance regulations (basic)

Preferred Education:

• High school diploma
• GED
• Or significant, relevant work experience
