The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a Teacher - Special Education position, located at Copper Lake/Lincoln Hills School in Irma, Wisconsin.

Position Summary

Under general supervision of the Teacher Supervisor at Lincoln Hills School, employee provides, to assigned students, instructional and educational services including assessing students for need, selection, and provision of appropriate instructional resources, providing guided and independent practice, evaluation of progress, and appropriate remediation. Services also include maintenance of records and reporting student data as required. These activities are carried out under general supervision.

Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule and range 13-04 with a starting pay of $30.00/hour - $35.76/hour and an add on of $3.00/hour for all hours worked. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required.

This position may receive supplemental (add-on) pay adjustments for additional credits relevant to the position that are over and above the credits needed for certification. This add-on ranges from $0.97/hour to $2.97/hour of additional pay, based on relevant credits and professional development actions, as allowed in Section A (4.12) of the Compensation Plan .

Job Details

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

This position is not eligible for remote work.

Qualifications

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

This position requires certification as a Teacher (grade levels: 7-12, prek-12, 6-12 or 9-12) by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and certification in one of the following: #1316 Reading Teacher, #1801 Cross-Categorical Special Education; #1810 Cognitive Disabilities; #1811 Learning Disabilities; or #1830 Emotion/Behavioral Disabilities.
