Real Estate Lending – Specialist / Mortgage UnderwriterLocation: Tampa, FL (Hybrid) – Fully RemoteStart Date: May 26, 2026Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Local Time)Overtime: Overtime available when there is a business need.Job DescriptionExtensive Mortgage Underwriting or Loan Processing experience. Analyze loans to make a valid recommendation.True underwriting experience, calculating income and/or VA SAR ability.Ability to do a manual underwrite.The system pulls red flags to deny loans; e.g., credit, income liabilities, etc. Handling 300‑400 per day. This team manages that case load, identifies which ones clear, and forwards them to a higher‑level underwriter.Review collected documentation against company, NCUA, USPAP, and all other relevant industry loan acceptance guidelines.Review contracts related to real estate, such as age restrictions, HOAs, etc.Work closely with loan originators and processors to ensure all appropriate data is obtained.Collaborate with Mortgage leadership and participate in mentoring sessions for Mortgage Processors, Mortgage Closers, and Mortgage Loan Officers.Maintain current knowledge of all company mortgage products and any changes to guidelines by company, investor, or government agencies that impact the processing of mortgage loan products.QualificationsMust have at least 1 year of Mortgage Underwriting experience.Knowledgeable of the Mortgage Industry.Familiar with agency guidelines i.e., Fannie, Freddie, VA.Ability to quickly adjust.Quick decision making.Comfortable with conditions, especially DU conditions.Familiar with/ability to calculate income.Experience reviewing CBRs.Experience in a production‑based environment.Pay & BenefitsPay range: $22.02 - $39.93 per hour.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment.
