Job Summary
Come join Autism Speaks as a Manager of Community Engagement on our West team, focusing on the Southern CA market. The role includes leading and supporting the Southern CA Empower Walk + 5K and SoCal Golf Classic, among other engagement and fundraising activities. Candidate shouldbe located in the Greater Los Angeles area and comfortable traveling within the region.

Key Responsibilities

Achieve revenue goals for assigned fundraising events (portfolio goal $250,000+).

Develop and implement planning timelines, income goals, expense budget and participant recruitment strategies.

Execute events in partnership with volunteer leadership, managing committee recruitment and retention.

Implement strategies identified in the business plan to achieve fundraising goals, including sponsorship, corporate recruitment and retention, and mission integration.

Support the local implementation of global campaigns of Autism Speaks, sometimes in collaboration with the Outreach Director for the region.

Manage day‑to‑day operations of assigned market events, including logistics, data entry, acknowledgements and materials management.

Provide administrative support to volunteer committees.

Make presentations to businesses, organizations and community groups to secure sponsorship, recruit teams and committee volunteers and manage accounts year‑round.

Integrate digital marketing initiatives such as email campaigns, fundraising websites and other digital outreach tools.

Position Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 3+ years of professional experience.

Experience: 3+ years demonstrated leadership in peer‑to‑peer fundraising, volunteer recruitment/management, relationship‑building, networking, budget management and volunteer mobilization. Proven track record of multi‑functional fundraising experience (special events, multiple walk events, corporate campaigns).

Specialized Skills and Knowledge

Ability to work independently and develop/implement fundraising and volunteer‑development plans.

Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.

Organized and detail‑oriented.

Superb customer service skills.

Ability to prospect, recruit, manage and develop volunteers.

Strong analytical skills.

Sound judgment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.

Database knowledge (Stratus Live and/or Luminate preferred).

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed to support programs and events.

Travel primarily related to events, which may involve overnight stays; occasional travel for team meetings and conferences.

Event days include setting up and moving materials and being actively engaged onsite for prolonged periods.

Regular use of a computer for extended periods of time.

Must have reliable mode of transportation (automobile, valid driver's license and insurance).

Salary & Benefits
Salary range is $62,000–$70,000 depending on experience and geographic location. Additional benefits include flex work hours, weekly training sessions, tuition reimbursement, summer bonus Fridays, a creative and inclusive work environment, and a competitive vacation package.
