Posting InformationPosting Number 2026417 Posting/Functional Title Cook University Pay Plan Title Cook Location San Marcos Department Child Development Center Recruitment Type University-Wide Recruiting Job Type Full-Time Funding Source Permanent Monthly Salary $2,583.00 Job Category Non-Exempt Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.* Knowledge of: food preparation and food safety techniques.* Skilled in: interacting effectively with co-workers, parents, and children; use of commercial kitchen equipment.* Ability to: read recipes, memos, special diet information, use scales, adjust recipes, read policy books, and time sheets; complete meal count sheets, take inventory, place weekly food orders, create monthly menus.* Requires certification in first aid and CPR, current food handlers certification, record of TB test within past year.* Must be a current Texas State EmployeePreferred Qualifications* CACFP experience.* Current Certified Food Manager CertificationJob DescriptionPrepare 3 daily meals for the children enrolled at the Child Development Center following the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) requirements along with state health and safety food preparation rules and regulations.Job Duties* Prepare breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack for 100 children in accordance with CACFP and Certified Food Manager standards.* Create monthly menu in accordance with CACFP standards.* Place weekly food and cleaning supplies order with vendor that is within budget.* Receives and inventories food deliveries.* Take temperature readings of refrigerators and freezers.* Clean kitchen shelves and chairs.* Completes inventory and takes stock of supplies and goods.* Completes daily meal production records in accordance with CACFP standards.* Cleans kitchen surfaces and equipment following all health and safety food sanitation standards.
