Manages the organization's Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental standards and regulations. Leads the development and execution of processes that identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with hazardous materials, waste disposal, and industrial operations while minimizing environmental and community impact. Provides technical guidance, administrative direction, and clear interpretation of regulations and policies issued by federal, state, and other agencies. Oversees regulatory adherence, incident investigations, and employee training initiatives that promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

Manage and administer environmental health and safety programs across the organization to ensure adherence to all applicable environmental and occupational safety regulations.
Develop and implement processes to identify, evaluate, and mitigate environmental and safety risks related to hazardous materials, waste management, and operational activities.
Review environmental incidents and accident reports to determine root causes and establish corrective and preventive action plans.
Monitor and interpret changes in environmental and safety laws, regulations, and industry standards; update internal policies, procedures, and practices accordingly.
Design and deliver training and education programs to increase employee awareness of environmental policies, compliance requirements, and organizational safety standards.
Partner with operational and departmental leaders to integrate EHS practices into daily workflows, projects, and long-term planning initiatives.
Prepare compliance reports, maintain required documentation, and support internal and external audits to ensure organizational transparency and accountability.
Required Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental health and safety, emergency management, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related field.
Eight years of progressive experience in environmental health and safety
Experience managing EHS programs for multi-site organizations
2-3 years of administrative or operational experience
2-3 years staff management experience
Experience developing and managing budgets
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office
Preferred Experience managing EHS programs in higher education or the public sector
CSP certification preferred
Strong working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety laws, standards, and audit requirements.
Ability to identify hazards, analyze root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
Capability to supervise employees, manage performance, and coach team members for growth.
Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to educate diverse employee groups on policies and procedures.
Skill in managing multiple initiatives, meeting deadlines, and maintaining compliance documentation and reporting.
