Job Summary:

As a Store Utility Team Member, you will play a vital role in maintaining the store's appearance and enhancing the customer shopping experience. Your responsibilities will include transporting groceries, locating products, and verifying prices, all while ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build attractive product displays and present items neatly.
  • Collect and store shopping carts responsibly, maintaining a clean parking area.
  • Ensure stock levels are maintained on grocery display racks and shelves.
  • Engage with customers to promote product sales and enhance their shopping experience.
  • Handle products carefully to prevent damage.
  • Follow safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Maintain a friendly, customer-focused demeanor at all times.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Courteous communication with customers.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of operating manual and electric pallet jacks (18+ years required).
  • Safe handling of sharp tools.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Awareness of potential hazards and prompt reporting to supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • On-the-job training provided.
  • Minimum 18 years of age for equipment operation.
  • 21 years of age or older to drive for company business as per BGC Driver Policy.

Physical Requirements:

  • Continual use of close and distance vision.
  • Constant communication abilities (talking and hearing).
  • Frequent lifting and maneuvering of objects up to 40 lbs; occasionally up to 75 lbs.
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, or stooping.
  • Consistent attendance is essential.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily situated in a retail store environment.
  • Exposure to varying outdoor temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Regular interaction with wet or slippery surfaces.
  • Occasional exposure to cleaning agents.
  • Variable noise levels.
