Assistant Director of Admissions

At Riverview Behavioral Health, we differentiate our comprehensive inpatient services by providing innovative, evidence-based mental health care. Instead of offering one-size-fits-all treatment, we have a range of specific programs at our psychiatric hospital in Texarkana, Arkansas, that fit the different needs of people of all genders and age groups, including adolescents ages 11-17, and adults age 18 and older.

Hours: Weekdays 7pm - 4am with an occasional weekend night.

Essential Functions:

• Oversee the daily referral, intake, admissions, and preauthorization process for incoming patients.
• Organize, plan, and direct work assignments for Admissions staff.
• Provide staff management including hiring, development, training, performance management, and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.
• Supervise and monitor personnel adherence to established Admissions criteria and ensure that appropriate documentation of approval/denial occurs.
• Adhere to established Patient Rights and ensure the Admissions staff comply.

Other Functions:

• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a psychology, social services, or related field required.
• Master's degree in a social services field (psychology, counseling, social work, sociology, health administration, nursing) or RN is preferred.
• Two or more years' of experience as an admissions supervisor/manager or in another admissions capacity.

Licenses/Designations/Certifications:

• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility.
