Job Details

An employer is looking for a Remote Sr. Power BI Developer. This person will work semi-independently in a fast-paced, agile-like environment, supporting solution delivery requests with minimal direction. Theyll engage directly with business stakeholders many of whom may not fully understand Power BIs capabilities and must be confident in guiding conversations, even when that means saying no to unrealistic asks. Their primary tasks include building one Power BI report and potentially duplicating it with a different data source, incorporating features like column pickers, filtering, and Excel export for embedded reports. Theyll help distinguish between live and historical data views, likely resulting in two separate reports. The role demands strong judgment on effort versus impact, as well as the ability to research and present solution options. While collaboration is expected, the consultant must be proactive in learning team standards and navigating loosely defined requirements, with a production deadline set for the first week of November.

Experience with Power Apps or Power Automate
Familiarity with Power BI/Snowflake connection issues (though this sits with another team)
Experience around Power Automate work
5+ years of extensive experience with Power BI
Ability to work with loose requirements
Comfortable in an agile-like environment (responding to feedback and customer requests during development)
Strong research skills to explore potential solutions and present pros/cons
Able to communicate effectively with business stakeholders on both technical and non-technical levels
Self-directed and capable of learning team standards independently
Strong judgment on effort vs. results; not just an order taker
Able to guide requesters on what is and isnt possible within Power BI
Solid visualization skills
