Workday Consultant HCM
Responsibilities
- Independently consult with external clients and participate in all stages of the Workday project lifecycle, from planning and design phases through testing and deployment for Workday HCM and/or Financials application by developing solutions to complex problems/projects across multiple domains or clients.
- Effectively lead small to large client deliverables from start to finish across multiple, concurrent projects utilizing Stradas quality standards and consulting methodology.
- Integrate with other areas across Strada and functions to provide a complete solution.
- Consult on impact of decisions to operating post-implementation and downstream systems.
- Manage self and team member(s) work to project scope, timeline, risk and budget.
- Coordinate with others when applicable.
- Listen to client request, assess actual client need, provide subjective matter expertise, propose alternatives, and recommend solution(s). Depending on scope of project, may coach team members to execute same.
- Frequently discuss, and can articulate to clients, lessons learned from previous client experience, Workday best practices as well as Stradats Point of View. Depending on scope of project, may coach team members to execute same.
- Manage client expectations.
- Proactively identify trouble spots for client and recommend solutions.
- Significantly contribute to the development of internal resources via mentoring, coaching, and directing work.
- Participate in and may lead internal business initiatives to assist the organization in building our Strada brand and collateral, including but not limited to internal domain groups, chats and training.
- Demonstrate comprehensive understanding and champion project methodology and Strada best practices.
- Participate in building the Strada Brand by participating in Workday ecosystem product groups/chats and contribute advanced thinking and sharing of ideas within the ecosystem.
- Become an expert in the Workday product suite with a broad-based knowledge of human capital management or financials, while also being able to architect solutions within specific area(s).
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert in functional/technical area.
- Develop working relationships with other members of project team and management as well as external clients. Share knowledge and information through regular communications and facilitation.
- Use strong presentation, communication, listening and consultative skills to guide and drive discussions.
- Participate in client sales meetings, assisting with collateral creation where needed.
- Create work estimates and solutions for small to large bodies of work.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Math, Human Resources, Computer Science, or relevant field of study.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of previous consulting experience implementing ERP systems such as Workday, SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle, ADP or other SaaS software solutions.
- 1 to 2 plus years of leading work through others.
- Ability to be effectively and actively engaged on multiple, parallel projects.
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize conflicting demands with little supervision.
- Demonstrates strong work ethics, setting an example for others.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Possesses sound analytical problem-solving and documentation skills.
- Deep knowledge of specific domain(s); preferred areas include Recruiting, Core/Advanced Comp, Talent, Learning, or Benefits.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Workday HCM+ certification strongly preferred.

- Workday Certification is a requirement of the role. Candidates who are not certified will be considered for the role, but they will need to successfully pass Workday certification as well as on-going successful re-certification.
