The Part-Time Tutor provides academic tutoring to students.

Qualifications:

Must have completed a college-level course in the tutoring discipline with an A or B.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

* Possess excellent oral and written communication skills

* Possess detail-oriented and highly organized skills

* Possess strong interpersonal and decision-making skills

* Proficiency in Microsoft applications

* Ability to assess and provide guidance to students on the use of educational software

* Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty, and staff.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

* Serves as a role model and motivates students to achieve and assists with their academic needs

* Attends all tutor training and required meetings

* Completes tutoring reports

* Monitors student's progress

* Guides students to use the educational software at the labs

* Performs other duties as assigned

Salary:

Commensurate within the Texarkana College pay scale for position
