Director of Business Development RATP DEV USA (Remote, 80% Travel)

RATP Dev USA is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead lead assessment, sales outreach, client relationship growth, strategic development, and management of competitive procurement opportunities for new business and contract retention. The role focuses on diversification within existing client contracts with emphasis on expanding professional services, micro transit design and operations, technology assessments, and other value-added offerings. The position serves clients across the United States and collaborates with the Chief Development Officer, Vice President of Commercial Development, and the bid development team to achieve financial growth targets.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Growth & Professional Services: Identify opportunities within existing contracts to expand professional services offerings.
  • Lead initiatives in micro transit design & operations, technology assessment, and other specialized transit-related services.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to design and present professional service solutions that meet client needs.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with clients to position RATP DEV USA as a trusted, long-term partner.
  • Sales & Business Development: Assess and qualify leads that align with the companys growth objectives.
  • Drive relationship-based business development across professional services and operational service lines.
  • Support market expansion efforts aligned with strategic goals.
  • Conduct on-site visits, client meetings, and field research to identify and pursue opportunities.
  • Proposal Strategy & Coordination: Partner with the bid development team to shape overall proposal strategy and approach.
  • Collaborate on pricing strategy to ensure competitive and sustainable submissions.
  • Ensure proposal content aligns with client needs, procurement requirements, and company objectives.
  • Contribute to positioning and messaging that differentiates the company while protecting proprietary methods.
Qualifications
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship management skills.
  • Proven ability to develop opportunities in professional services and transportation operations.
  • Strong strategic thinking, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
  • Experience collaborating on proposal strategy and pricing approaches without disclosing sensitive information.
  • Deep understanding of procurement processes and service delivery models in public transportation.
  • Understanding or experience in the professional services industry, including service design, delivery, and client engagement.
Requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% nationwide.
  • Remote-based role with base salary plus commission (subject to company policy)
