Responsibilities

Pediatrix Medical Group has a per diem opportunity for experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners to join a well-established practice providing care to neonates at Christus St. Michaels Hospital in Texarkana, TX. Christus St. Michael's Hospital was ranked by Modern Healthcare as one of the "Best Places to Work in Healthcare" in 2017.

• The Level-III NICU has 8 beds; the intermediate unit has 7 beds with an average daily census of 9 infants.
• The neonatologists see babies in the newborn nursery with approximately 2,100 deliveries annually.
• NNPs provide 24-hour, in-house coverage, caring for preemies and term babies requiring mechanical ventilation, nitric oxide, oscillator ventilation, and total body cooling.

Qualifications

• Current APRN national specialty certification
• Minimum of a masters degree and 1 year post-grad clinical experience
• TX license or active IMLC preferred
• Certified NNP with recent experience required

Benefits and Compensation

Pediatrix covers travel expenses (round-trip flight/rental car or mileage and lodging) for those residing outside a commutable distance.

Malpractice insurance is also covered for this W-2 per diem position.
