Job Summary: The National Sales Manager is a leadership role responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive national sales strategy to achieve company revenue goals. This individual will lead, mentor, and motivate a team of regional and/or territory sales managers and representatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of exceeding sales targets, build high-performing teams, and manage complex sales cycles in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Execution:
    • Develop and implement a national sales plan to meet and exceed annual sales targets and revenue goals.
    • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new sales opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
    • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team, including sales volume, pipeline growth, and customer acquisition costs.
  • Team Leadership & Management:
    • Recruit, train, coach, and mentor a high-performing national sales team.
    • Provide regular performance feedback, conduct annual reviews, and implement professional development plans for team members.
    • Foster a positive and results-oriented team culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Conduct regular sales meetings to review performance, share best practices, and provide motivation.
  • Sales Operations & Reporting:
    • Oversee the entire sales process, from lead generation and qualification to deal closure and post-sales support.
    • Utilize CRM software to manage the sales pipeline and generate accurate sales forecasts.
    • Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior management, detailing performance against targets, market insights, and strategic recommendations.
    • Manage the national sales budget and allocate resources effectively.
  • Key Account Management & Business Development:
    • Directly manage relationships with a portfolio of key national accounts.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including large-scale partnerships and strategic alliances.
    • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to build brand awareness and generate leads.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with marketing to develop effective lead generation campaigns and sales collateral.
    • Collaborate with product development and operations teams to ensure product offerings align with market demands and customer needs.
    • Partner with finance to manage pricing strategies and sales commission plans.
    • Partner with other company subsidiaries to maximize revenue and synergies

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  • 10 years of progressive experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a senior sales management role.
  • Proven track record of success in building and leading a national sales team to achieve aggressive targets.
  • Strong understanding of sales methodologies, sales operations, and CRM systems
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to travel nationally as required ([e.g., up to 60%]).
