Temporary seasonal position for 100 forestry workers for tree planting/reforestation with Alpha Services, LLC from 10/01/2025 to 03/31/2026. All applicants must be able, willing, and qualified to perform work described in the job description and be available for the entire period specified. Duties may include reforesting, protecting timber tracts, sowing seed, lifting seedlings from nursery beds, placing shade materials beside seedlings, netting/tubing (placing small plastic tubes over seedlings), mulching, post-plant hand scalp (removing excess vegetation around seedlings), applying repellent or fertilizer to seedlings, and other forestry-related activities as per Forestry & Land Management General Forestry Laborer activities as per SOC/OES 45-4011.
Perform physical activities: lift, balance, walk, stoop, handle, position, move, manipulate materials using static strength to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50lbs. Attention to detail; complete work tasks timely. Outdoors, exposed to weather; must be capable of physical strenuous labor for long hours, occasionally in extreme heat/cold. Variable weather conditions apply; hours may fluctuate (+/-), possible downtime/OT. Employer complies with applicable Federal, State, local laws pertaining to OT hours. Wage may vary. Possible daily/weekly hours: 7AM-3:30 PM. M-F 35-40 plus/hours weekly, includes lunch break.
No minimum education required. No experience required. On-the-job training (OTJ). Must show proof of legal authority to work in the U.S. Drug, alcohol, and tobacco free work zone. Must be 18 years old due to travel.
Wage Range: $12.78-21.82 OT $19.17-32.73 Wage may vary per location:
Work site(s): Transport provided, designated locale to job site at no cost to worker; begin: Texarkana, AR; continue multiple areas in the following states: MS-NC-GA-SC-VA-FL-AL-MO-TX-OK-TN-AR-LA-IA-WI. Transport/subsistence reimbursed (by first paycheck) most reasonable transport available, cost from place where worker has come to work for employer, whether in the U.S. or abroad, to place of employment. Once worker completes 50% of employment period, transport costs (most efficient carrier cost), & subsistence costs reimbursed to worker. Upon completion of work contract or where worker is dismissed early, employer will provide or pay for workers' reasonable costs for return transport/subsistence back home or to place worker originally departed to work, except where worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. Amount of transport payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical/reasonable common carrier for distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68 per day with receipts.
Offering worker employment for a total number of work hours equal at least of the workdays of each 12-week period, if the period of employment covered by the job order is 120 or more days, or each 6-week period, if the period of employment covered by the job order is less than 120 days, in accordance with 20 CFR 655.20(f). Employer-provided tools, supplies/equipment without charge/deposit. Misc. a single workweek as standard to compute wages due. Wage paid every 2-weeks (possible weekly). All deductions required by law will be done by the employer. The employer's option housing is provided at no cost to worker. Will reimburse H-2B worker first workweek paycheck for visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, to the extent required by law, including those fees mandated by the U.S. government incurred by H-2B worker, not including passport or other fees not primarily for the benefit of the employer.
Carpool contributions are optional and not a condition of employment: Carpool contributions up to $35 per week. Company makes available company vehicle after hours for reasonable personal use; contributions up to $35 per week to help cover costs of personal use will be deducted based on mileage.
