Join our dynamic team as an Industrial Millwright, where you will play a crucial role in our continuous improvement initiatives. In this role, you will actively participate in troubleshooting and implementing predictive and preventative maintenance strategies, ensuring the safe operation of machinery in our facility.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs and maintenance on industrial equipment, including conveying systems, debarkers, canters, gang saws, and edgers.
  • Interpret and understand technical drawings and printed instructions.
  • Display initiative and the ability to work safely under pressure.
  • Have a foundational knowledge of aligning pumps, sheaves, sprockets, and machine centers.
  • Safely move machinery using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
  • Adjust tension on fasteners and position parts using hand tools and measuring instruments to ensure proper clearances.
  • Align machines and equipment with precision, utilizing various tools including hoists, jacks, and measuring devices.
  • Assemble and install equipment using both hand and power tools efficiently.
  • Create mounting layouts and drill holes accurately with power drills.
  • Replace defective parts and adjust moving parts for optimal performance.
  • Level bedplates and establish centerlines using straightedges, levels, and transits.
  • Dismantle machinery using a variety of hand tools.
  • Attach moving parts and subassemblies to assembly units, ensuring smooth operation.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Proficient in cutting torch operations (Oxygen/Acetylene).
  • Experienced in welding techniques (GMAW and SMAW).
  • Safety-oriented with a commitment to upholding our ZES rules.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, and be on-call to support our 24/7 operations.
  • At least 3 years of Millwright experience in an Industrial/Manufacturing setting.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical examination, and background check.
  • Willing to travel for the West Fraser Qualified Millwright training program.
  • Ability to pass a Millwright Assessment Test is essential.
