Join our dynamic team as a Millwright Technician, where you will play a crucial role in driving continuous improvement initiatives. Your expertise in troubleshooting and maintenance will be essential to ensure all machinery operates safely and efficiently within our facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain industrial equipment such as conveying systems, debarkers, canters, gang saws, and edgers.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and printed instructions effectively.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to working safely under pressure.
  • Utilize your knowledge of pumps, sheaves, sprockets, and machine centers.
  • Safely maneuver machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
  • Adjust nuts and bolts and position parts using hand tools and measuring instruments to ensure proper clearance.
  • Align machines and equipment employing a variety of tools such as hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, and micrometers.
  • Assemble and install equipment with both hand and power tools.
  • Lay out mounting holes using precision measuring instruments and drill using power drills.
  • Replace defective machine parts and fine-tune clearances and alignment.
  • Level bedplates and establish centerlines with straightedges, levels, and transit tools.
  • Dismantle machines using a variety of hand tools, including hammers, wrenches, and crowbars.
  • Attach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly units using hand and power tools.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Cutting torch experience (Oxygen/Acetylene) is required.
  • Welding experience (GMAW and SMAW) is essential.
  • Safety-oriented mindset with adherence to all workplace safety regulations.
  • Availability for rotating shifts, overtime, and on-call support for 24/7 operations.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant Millwright experience in an Industrial/Manufacturing setting.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical examination, and background check.
  • Willingness to travel and complete the West Fraser Qualified Millwright training program.
  • Successful candidates will complete a Millwright Assessment Test.
