Location: Big Dam Waterpark, Texarkana, AR

Job Overview:

Big Dam Waterpark is seeking a dynamic General Manager with a strong focus on aquatics to lead our operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring a safe, efficient, and thrilling environment for our guests and staff, emphasizing the highest standards of water safety and park operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of Big Dam Waterpark, ensuring all areas meet the highest standards of safety and guest satisfaction.
  • Lead and manage the aquatics team, including lifeguards and pool maintenance staff, ensuring proper training, certification, and performance.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to enhance safety protocols and operational efficiency within the aquatics facilities.
  • Monitor and maintain water quality and safety standards to comply with state and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance department to ensure all aquatic equipment and facilities are in top condition.
  • Prepare and manage the budget for aquatics operations, including forecasting and controlling expenditures.
  • Handle staffing requirements, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop new attractions and programs focused on enhancing the aquatic experience.
  • Work closely with marketing and sales teams to promote the waterpark's offerings and boost attendance.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints or accidents in the aquatic areas promptly.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and safety standards in the waterpark sector.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of management experience in an aquatic environment or waterpark.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage large teams.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage high-stress situations and maintain a positive guest relations demeanor.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as necessary.
