The Plant Cost Controller is responsible for the direction, coordination and control of financial functions for the facility. Work is performed in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment within tight time constraints.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Safeguard assets of the company through appropriate internal controls and analytic techniques
  • Update Standard Cost, maintain Fixed Asset and CIP accounts
  • Process Monthly Close (FI) and ensure accuracy of COPA P&L down to Gross Margin by product line
  • Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts
  • Lead Fixed Asset Inventory by tagging all assets and ensuring all requirements are met. This activity may include time spent outside of regular working hours
  • Provide necessary documentation and analysis to Internal and External Auditors in a timely manner
  • Assist in identifying financial opportunities (i.e. cost savings initiatives) and implementing actions, by providing timely and meaningful information to assist in the decision-making process
  • Take part in capital budgeting process, including analytical prioritization and justification process
  • Gather, maintain, analyze and communicate accurate financial data and information

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist in the annual long-range planning process
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities
  • Provide support to other positions as needed
  • Actively involved in Plant support activities such as Top Safety Visits, CSR activities, Fast Response Audits
  • Other duties as assigned

Profile Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years' experience in cost and general accounting in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to collect, maintain and analyze data
  • Proficient in Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • SAP Experience Preferred
  • Must comply with all work rules, policies and procedures
  • Must comply with all safety rules and regulations
  • Must successfully comply with all required training

Other Requirements

  • Position may require travel and unusual work hours
  • Authority and responsibility to stop production when a quality or safety issue arises
  • Work requires walking, talking, seeing, hearing, sitting, climbing, bending, stooping, grasping, crouching, pushing, balancing, reaching, kneeling, and standing
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
  • Work requires working under high and low temperatures at certain times
